Service Description

With everyone's busy life, we decided to create a pottery wheel mini session. Each session is 2-2 1/2 hours, two days in a row. No long, weekly commitments. Session 1: Making! Learn the basics of throwing clay on a potter's wheel (centering, opening, pulling). Make bowls & cyliders (vases, cups, planters). Session 2: Trimming, carving, decorating and more. Finish all those pottery pieces you made the day before and get them ready for the kiln. Pieces will need to dry and get bisque fired in the kiln (about a 2 week process.) Then you will return for a glazing session. We will walk you through the glazing process, explaining the different types of glaze to use and how to apply glaze to your pottery. Studio has needed tools & clay to use during class. This is a small class of 4 people max. perfect for beginners or those needing a refresher course on the pottery wheel. Learn something new or increase your confidence & prepare yourself to create in the studio independently. Join us for as many 2-day sessions as you like. Due to the very limited seats available, our cancelation policy will be followed. The $120 class fee covers all instruction, materials for both sessions, plus the glazing session. ***Meets in the Clay Studio behind the Gift Shop, next to the Tire Shop*** Wear comfortable clothing, trim fingernails, and tie long hair back for safety.
